Need suggestions for a good soldering iron

rsjawale24

I'm looking to buy a good soldering iron preferably with a fine needle tip that can last long. Power - 25W-35 W

I checked online and there are two types of irons available - Ceramic heater and coil heater type.

I use this one from Soldron (A popular brand in India) but the tips don't last longer esp. if you keep the iron on for longer times. The entire soldering bit starts to give off flakes (some kind of coating comes off).

The only plus point is that the tips are easy to replace and not very expensive.

I found another one from Stanley the tip is tightened using a screw on the side. Probably uses a different heating element too as compared to the above one.

Please suggest good soldering irons to buy (brand, models, etc) which can last longer with power rating of 25W to 35 W. Also, which heating element is better? Coil type or ceramic type?

I am not an expert in soldering irons but what I have noticed over the years is that the tips are very damaged if you do not have temperature regulation and some function for the soldering iron to detect…

Hi Rushiraj, I think both could be ok for general through-hole work if nothing else is available, but both look pretty bad for surface-mount. This is just from general experience from similar-looking tools…

Hi Rushiraj, There's a Multicomp soldering station but is just slightly higher than your budget (it is ~ 100 USD). Personally with $70 budget, I think I would try to buy a used soldering station, but that…

The Plusivo 60W Soldering Iron is a good soldering iron. I like the extra shrink tubing, which I often use in circuitry projects. The included pen screwdriver with a set of seven magnetic bits is handy for disassembling and accessing circuit boards. Moreover, the storage bag has a convenient and durable design that is easy to pack and carry around.

I like how on that review website, all the top 5 soldering irons are identical Joy Except one is pink.

    All junk, no earth connection.
