I am glad it's not me that cannot find anithing more. 

I find about 200 rotary pots with switches on the Newark site, mostly TT Electronics. Starting at less than $1. I'm not sure how to search Farnell, but the same parts should be on that site.

Thats the one I'm looking for indeed, Unfortunaltly it is us stock so thats €25 in shipment. Have visited the newark site and indeed than it is visble. 

That is a bit strange. When I order parts from Newark that are only in stock at Farnell in the UK, they seem to ship from the UK without charging me extra shipping. If you try ordering locally, maybe it would automatically extract stock from the US.

In the UK we get a delivery charge applied for US warehouse items e.g.:

It is such an irritating charge. It puts those parts out of reach for home use. In 10+ years, I've only used that once, out of necessity.

Finding potentiometers with the right configuration (value, log/lin, cermet, single/dual-gang etc is not easy, at least in the UK, at a fair price any more, so sometimes worth designing around the problem if possible (e.g. digitally adjust levels if possible, not always easy : (

If this is a new design then it is definitely worth avoiding integrating a switch, since that just increases the likelihood of not finding parts.

Also sometimes a potentiometer can be replaced with a rotary switch, e.g. 2-gang 6-pos switch, if those discrete settings could work. It depends on the use-case of course.

Planning to make a adjustable led driver with seamless dimming on a rotary switch (retro-feeling, I now there are push button solutions etc) 

I Like the 6-pos switch will remember that one for futere projects. 

Would be cool if they could sell the US items with a week delay so they can send all the items from the us to a EU ware house and the send to customers.

Totally agree, there has got to be a better way instead of that extra charge.

Adjustable LED with rotary control definitely seems a good use-case for a potentiometer as you say. I have several LED lights and to me the ones with potentiometer control feel the best.
