soft start resister value

Hello I am repairing a DELTA VSD (varible speed drive )

model ASD-A2-1521-M

that had a dead IGBT module   FP50R06W2E3

And a melted blob where the soft start resister was

I think about (15mm long 6mm wide.wire wound)    3 or 4 watt  and 1/2 ohm

I no this is soft start because there is relay contacts that short out this resister usually seconds after power up

looking at the data sheet for   FP50R06W2E3  this resister is between pins  P and P1

this resister charges 1600uf cap

from P output from bridge

110v 3 phase input  estimate 275vdc to cap

My question is to resister  value ?

( Im a VFD guy) the pre charge resistor is only in the circuit while the DC bus charges on first power up. Once the DC bus reaches a certain % of target, usually a 230VAC VFD has about a 350V DC bus, 460…

Possibly. Normal failure mode is short, at least for a short time. If stays short too long, either it melts down inside and explodes or the IGBT blows itself open. Upstream fusing is intended to limit…
