Hello model Roal C94 or R764833 and RHPSC94

I have repaired several of these after the TOP246 explodes and then replace IC,s on the 15v rail

Now i have 2 that start up 3 green leds then shuts down with no error message or light

Does anyone know this fault

Hi, thank you for your reply! Even if it is very embarrassing, it was my fault. The screw next to it was very tight, so I had to use a plier and it slipped away, breaking the diode Yeah, the theory…

    Hi acdc90,

I just stumbled over your post and although I can't help you with your problem, perhaps you can help me?

I'm trying to fix an R764833 LPS where one of the diodes (D301) is broken. Do you have an idea about the specs of this part? I have no clue what specifications the sparepart should have.

    Thank you in advance!

Hello, just looking at some photos there are 5 of opto coupler  HCPL-7800A used in that unit. each had 2 diodes including  D301

i did not have a problem with the diodes around the opto coupler/opamp which includes D301, so I did not need to investigate them,

be warned the pin out numbers on board for ic i230 are wrong

How does a diode inside a metal box get broken? or did you do it

i would down load the data sheet for opto, see which pins both diodes goto, see if that makes sence, then pull another diode out and do some measurements , like with a resister and see if it is a Zenor

what else is wrong with it. I had 6 complete modules that had 1 blown the 15v(LVPS) supply

I believe dust had built up across the SMPS ic and then with moisture "exploded" then zapping the output

so by replacing ics and 10ohm resisters on 15v rail fixed most of them

    hope that helps

    Hi,

    thank you for your reply!

Even if it is very embarrassing, it was my fault. The screw next to it was very tight, so I had to use a plier and it slipped away, breaking the diode Face palm

Yeah, the theory of dust and moisture sounds legit, as I found lots of both while dismantling, causing also corroded and non conduction connections to the fuses.

The main problem is 'Error -2001, mains voltage too low'. Therefore I started looking for defects in the LPS (and made it even worse by being clumsy...)

does your LVPS led come on

if not with no mains connected to unit

    evan with out D301

supply external 14v to white wires between boards

    labeled +15 and END

if it draws more than 36ma then you have several  dead ics on that rail and dead SMPS TOP246yn

Didn't dare to give it a try before fixing the D301, but after your suggestion I'll test it
