A smart-light that keeps you tranquil - in the loop

NOTTI smart-light (via Witti)

Witti Inc. is a group of savvy designers that created something simple, beautiful, and effective. No wonder their Kickstarter campaign is through the roof! You can get one for about $40 if you act fast. Their product is called the NOTTI, and it's a smart-light that syncs to your phone to gently notify you of text messages, phone calls, emails, and more. It also has a special alarm clock feature that gently wakes you up by progressively brightening the room 5 minutes before your alarm clock is set to go off. This is a pretty epic feature for me, since I am always startled to death if I am woken up by annoying iPhone ring tones.

I also have gotten into the habit of turning the sound off on my phone to increase my productivity. And also, because I get startled half-to-death by ring tones (maybe this is just me). The light is a pretty simple and effective design that I wish was already out on the mass market so I don't have to wait ages for it to be delivered. Via an app which is compatible with Android and Apple, you can control the color and customize your notifications. The NOTTI syncs to a maximum of 4 phones at a time (when the phones are within range), so you can use one for the whole family.

The shape of this light is a stylish and abstract polygon shape to serve as 'art' in your home décor as well. One of its other features is a dance party mode where the colors will change and blink to your music – prepare for NOTTI parties! The packaging of the phone can also serve as a phone stand, which is nice. What intrigues me most about this product is it seems useless and compatible to other more flowery designs, but its simplicity and elegance makes me think I'll use it (unlike, the rave HI LED phone cases that came out on Kickstarter a while ago). Those are more annoying than Apple ring tones. Check out their Kickstarter.
