''Being smart is not about brain size.. it is about connecting the right amount of neurons at the right time ....''
ST has just unveiled the STM32 F7 the world's first CortexRegistered-M7 based MCU, result of a fruitful collaboration with ARM.

Watch our interview of Renaud Bouzereau and Thomas Ensergueix, Product Marketing Managers at ST and ARM

The STM32 ARM Cortex-M based 32-bit MCU family is already a reference for developers around the globe, with over 500 part numbers, from entry-level MCUs with ultra-low-power capabilities to high performance with large memories and comprehensive connectivity options. With the launch of the new STM32 F7 series, ST is adding even more choice and providing developers with the smartest and most powerful STM32 MCUs ever!

Some good reasons to get developers excited about this announcement:

  • The STM32 F7 series performs more than 60% faster than previous CoreMark champion STM32 F4 series - up to 1000 CoreMark!  Developers can be sure they will have the headroom they need when developing powerful applications and spend less time optimizing code.
  • The STM32 F7 series offers double the DSP performance of the F4 series allowing, for example, advanced sound processing and audio decoding capability such as 7.1 Multi-channel audio support.  The higher performance of the STM32 F7 comes with no compromise in power efficiency. 7 CoreMarks/mW in Run mode executing from Flash and down to 120 uA typical in STOP mode with all context and SRAM content saved.
  • A brand new set of peripherals with dual clock-domain support- allowing the power-saving reduction of the CPU speed without impacting communication baud rate on peripherals.
  • A 64-bit AXI bridge to a Multi-AHB bus matrix with dedicated general-purpose DMA controllers and exclusive ST Chrom-ART graphic accelerator can concurrently move data to and from multiple RAM memories and the new peripherals
  • Two independent mechanisms to reach 0-wait-state performance from both internal and external memories - using ST's unique ART Accelerator and an L1 cache
  • + STM32 F4 customers have an easy upgrade path with full pin-out and code compatibility

STM32 F7 addresses a broad range of applications in industrial, medical and consumer markets including sensor hubs, industrial controls and gateways, motor controls, and power-efficient local processors for IoT devices combining rich connectivity and advanced audio and graphic man-machine interfaces.

The new addition to the family takes advantage of the extensive existing STM32 development ecosystem, allowing the STM32 F7 series to be born as a seamless and natural extension at the top of our portfolio. It comes with all the elements you have come to know and love and much more:

STM32 F7 Cube, a new CMSIS DSP library, discovery kits, STM32 Nucleo kits, and many solutions from 3rd party partners

STM32 F7 has been honored with the Best-In-Show Award, Best Hardware Product  at ARMTechCon 2014.

Hey, thanks. Note that this project will be used for master work in my university, and pcb for this project will arrive in 2 weeks, will it be possible to get processor in this time window ? ( i already have STM32F429i for this )imageimage

when i can get my hands on STM32F7 in LQFP144 package ?  I have project that is bottlenecked by STM32F429i running at 200MHz, and i need more grunt for faster image processing.
If that could double my image processing, that would be so cool
