Featured with low power consumption and bluetooth 5 connection, QN908x is designed for IoT, wearable and health care devices.GPIO offered by QN908x provides multiple level driven strenth, which leads to simpler design, cost effective for customers. Excellent GPIO driven strength of QN908x saves the space of PCB design and low cost BOM for customers, which leads to it more competitive in market.

GPIO drive strength

Generally, weareable and fitness devices connect to a variety of sensors and peripherals which need power supply. All GPIOs of QN908x can provide two levels of drive strength, especially, five of them can provide four levels of drive strength, illustrated as below table.

Two Levels Drive Strength
Four levels Drive Strength
Source Current(max.)

0.9mA

3.7mA

0.9mA

3.7mA

9.4mA

12.2mA

Sink Current(max.)

0.5mA

2.1mA

0.5mA

2.1mA

Configue drive strengh of GPIOs

Source code is provided in QN908x SDK which can be downloaded from NXP web site. Example code can be found in pin_mux.c file. In addition, please note the capability of GPIO driving load also depends on the sink current it supports.

For more detailed information, please visit the reference manual of QN908x: https://www.nxp.com/docs/en/nxp/user-guides/UM11023.pdf.
