You will need to contact the employer to inquire what their policies are regarding "remote" internships.
From my experience, internships are not virtual. But the world is different compared to when I had an internships. My guess is they are more common now.
So, write a letter of inquiry. And include a resume with your key skills. Explain why you are an ideal fit for this internship.
