We at element14 are asking our community members how they would design a home patient monitoring system. We call this IoT Group Brainstorming, the Innovators?
We are trying to explore what's the best way to help a stroke patient who has a tendency to fall (and lives alone at home). What kind of home patient monitoring device could be designed that would notify her caregivers if it appears she is on the verge of falling or she has just fallen and needs assistance?
To get some background on the project, we split up the group brainstorming into the following segments:
- Workflow- the best way to begin planning this design project
- Node--the best type of node design
- Gateway--the best way to handle the gateway
- Cloud Services--the best cloud services to use
Once we brainstormed the design, we wanted to get input on what would be the best "dreamboard IoT Kit" to be used for developing this solution. What would be in it? Development boards? Sensors? Cloud Connectivity? Platforms? Accessories?
How would you design an IoT device to help an elderly stroke patient who lives at home? Feel free to enter your comments below.
