I like the idea of a drone mower, like a Roomba for the yard. you can have sensors to detect yard that has already been cut and trees to avoid. instead of modifying a standard mower, i would try to use a smaller base and mount a weed eater motor. you can set several loose at the same time. I think the Roomba itself uses a mathematical formula to detect areas to be cleaned, but the drone would only need to know boundaries, and sensors.
