Need Help With Tools : A2541R24A AIR module

gsgill112
gsgill112 over 7 years ago

I had taken part in one of the Roadtest Regarding an Anaren BLE Boosterpack. Few years earlier the company stopped the support to these Modules , Now I unfortunately don't have an application to program these Modules, earlier provided by the company.

So, These Modules (A2541R24A AIR module) are based in TI's CC2541 Soc which is still in production.

If someone have used them can you please provide me the old software to be able to reuse these devices, Or can you please provide me with some references to change the onboard BLE stack to a TI Stack so that I can USE TI;s Tools to program these modules.

Thanks an Regards,

GS Gill

I’ll have to check, but if I recall well, you can upload the stack from TI with the loader application. I did that for one of the BLE members of that family... should be in one of my blogs here on element14…

Hey gsgill112 , I'll see if I can get hold of the person I know at Anaren and find out if there is away to change the stack, update the modules or get a copy of the old environment. Kas

    gsgill112,

I assume my previous comments posted on the other page were of little help. Have you tried contacting Anaren directly, in the past I've found them very responsive and helpful. If you can't get anything from them and I'll try with my contact there.

    Kas

    Hi Gurinder,

I thought if you wanted to use a TI stack, then it had to be a paid environment (compiler, build tools) for the CC2541, for example IAR, otherwise it would be a fair amount of effort to try to port it to a different compiler. I forget what the other paid option was, maybe Keil.

When I checked with IAR, it was fairly pricey unless it was for a business. On the other hand if you are a business, then from past (non-CC2541) experience IAR is truly excellent. Really great environment, and their documentation was quite good.

With the more modern chips (with ARM cores) you have more flexibility for free build environments.

    it didn’t require a paid-for environment.

    Hi Jan,

I see.. I was under the impression that Gurinder wanted to create some custom application to run on it, and build it along with the stack (i.e. use the stack's API), so would need that body of code linking in with his code, even if not recompiling the stack.

Maybe I've misunderstood the requirement. I didn't use the CC2541 after the request to find out how much the IAR software fee was : (

Hi shabaz , thanks for the reply.

My son is to use the module. Now the device comes pre configured using Aneran BLE Stack. For which the programming environment is non existent.

So, I thought to use TI stack to get started.

As per my understanding about the stacks , I think TI ccs with some wireless tools you can program an CC2541 device. Now I think TI gives the stack as a lib for free but the stack itself is closed source.

So I was wondering is there any way to change the Anaran stack to TI stack bu using TI's lainchpads or buspirate. As I don't have a CC Debugger of ARM JTAG device.

    Regards
