Live at IOT Summit Chicago:  Do you want to learn more about Blockchain's role in IOT?

Hi element14 community!

 

I'm live at IOT Summit Chicago at the W Hotel (172 W. Adams), not far from the Newark element14 offices. On this cold and icy day in Chicago, it's warm in here where I'm listening to a panel discussion on Blockchain's Increasing Role inn IOT.

 

We haven't talk much about Blockchain on element14.

 

But, should we?  You tell me:

 

Should the element14 community bring more attention or discuss Blockchain to a greater degree?

  • IBM are developing / have developed a useful blockchain based cloud platform. Here is one simple application example, which they put on YouTube.

     

    I thought this is one of the better examples out there. This one show the how blockchain fits within the supply chain throughout a product's lifecycle. From an IoT perspective you would simply be adding in operational data into the blockchain mix for maintenance and repair purposes. This data can then form part of the smart contract as the product moves from one party to another.
