Poll: Are you presently using an Internet-connected hand tool?

IoT. That used to mean Internet of Things. But the world has thrown a monkey wrench into that. IoT means Internet of Tools!

The Internet of Tools essentially means that a hand tool is connected to the internet to provide data about the tooling action you have taken. Crimping. Hammering. Drilling. Soldering. Expect to see the Internet of Tools to explode with new products in the coming years.

While working in a semi-regulate environment, we used IoT (Amazon cloud) to record test results on devices that were deemed to be critical to the design that were taken on our in-house designed test fixtures.  The information would serve as proof that the critical values were tested for any future claims or informational requests.
