ESP8266 based car interior control

Hi,

I want to introduce a new project of me. A friend asked me for help with his Lincoln stretch  limousine car. The car has originally an interior control via capacitive sensor keys based on a Atmel controller.  This solution have some big disadvantages: unlogical and unergonomic user interface, only one control in the passenger room (but only basic controls for the driver), no support for mobile devices and not ready for future  expansions. Our new solution based on WiFi and UDP protocols. We've developed 2 new boards. A new main control board and a new touch screen driver board for a Nextion touch screen. Both works with wemos d1 mini (esp8266) ....

thx I have fixed (removed) the link and added some better pictures .... So far as I know you have to realize a project with a Cortex M0 board of ST or the IoT on Wheels Design Challenge?! The touchscreen…

Yes, the project must incorporate at least a NUCLEO-L476RG board. By the way, the CPU has Cortex M4 core.

    Hi,

meanwhile we have finished the project. I've changed the link in the top to a new blog entry about the project on our website. This blog contains circuit diagrams and source code also.

What kind of touchscreen are you using?  I have been concerned about using a standard 7" Raspberry Pi touchscreen due to changes in Temperature you would have to expect with a car.
