Lego kit of Ladyada's Workshop to inspire kids

I saw this exciting proposal for a new Lego kit today:

http://adafruit.com/lego

Ladyada's workshop is a place where you explore all the cool things you build and use when you're an engineer! Computers, pick-and-place machine, laser cutter, soldering station and more! In Ladyada's workshop you can run your own open-source hardware electronics company, complete with Mosfet the cat.

If you dig this LEGO set as I do, then please register and vote for it here:

LEGO will make a real set if it receives 10,000!

Cheers,

Drew

I initially dismissed the set as a toy, but then I got to thinking about it and realized that the sooner we get kids thinking about engineering and science, then the sooner we can plant the seed for them…

Very cool.  Thanks for posting Drew.  Since we're on the subject of legos check out this link http://botbench.com/blog/2012/05/18/lego-heavy-weapons/  Someone created directions to create a fully functional lego weapon that shoots legos.

Wow, that's pretty amazing.  Might be little too realistic looking but impressive none the less.

BTW, the Adafruit set on LEGO Cuusoo has 879 votes now, so still a way to go to 10,000.  Looks like they could use every vote they can get.
