Feeds and speeds

I am starting this discussion in regards to feeds and speeds for milling/engraving with miniature CNC mills. I will soon be getting a Shapeoko and would like to share experiences.

Some guidelines:

If you are speaking to a specific material please state-

Tool: ie Ball end mill

Diameter: ie 1/4" DIA

Feeding speed:

Cutting speed: (may be approximated or given in terms relating to spindle)

Spindle type: Moto tool, Rigid 1.5HP router, etc.

Material: ie laminate plastic, HDPE, Red oak, etc.

I ordered the mechanical kit ony, received it a few weeks ago and got it put together.

Just need to mount motors and electronics. I am going to try to use a RAMBo board for this, It's Arduino based but haven't looked into weather the same software will work. I'm hoping to locate different software to use with this.

I'll definitely contribute to this discussion once i get it all up and running.
