Seeking Someone to Write a Tutorial on Charge Pumps Including Building Some Examples

I am interested in sponsoring a member to write a tutorial on charge pumps.

I'd like the member to:

a) explain what they are

b) explain how they work

c) build a few variants of charge pumps.

I would buy all the parts. And I would throw in a "surprise" yet new dev board left over from previous roadtests.

If anyone is interested, please contact me.

Sincerely,

Randall Scasny

I don't know about doing a whole tutorial, but I could possibly contribute an example build and description. I designed a pretty heavy duty multi-stage charge pump quite a while ago with 10uf capacitors…

Thanks for the comment. This idea got started with James Lewis's mention of of switch capacitor power supplies. And then I thought of charge pumps. However, a DC - Dc switched capacitor p.s. is another…

Douglas, Interesting.....in 1 week! The tutorial was my first idea. I'm not committed to it. I know you have a busy schedule. But it would be interesting to have the story on the community. Some photos…

I don't know about doing a whole tutorial, but I could possibly contribute an example build and description. I designed a pretty heavy duty multi-stage charge pump quite a while ago with 10uf capacitors that reached about 50V. It included some high-side switches in the oscillator which also used charge pumps to generate high gate voltages. I still have a bare card kicking around, so I could assemble and test one. At the time, I did not have an oscilloscope and did not test it beyond confirming it worked well enough for the application. It was one of those projects that had to go from concept to shipping a working system in 1 week.

If you don't, I can probably help you with parts.

    Thanks.
