Hi Guys

If anybody can help me identify what this component (with part number) is it would be greatly appreciated !!!!

It might be a High Power Infrared Emitter?

Hi Andrew, Is it a passive component, or is it accidentally in the wrong group? Do you have dimension details (even if inaccurate ruler measurement) and an end-on view photo? Also, for context, what device…

Looks like a TO-5 package. Possibly a photodiode or possibly a laser diode. Heat damage is more likely on a laser diode.

I can't tell from your picture, was there a third lead between the two visible connections?
