Blinker design
Our culture is obsessed with creating the newest fad and venturing uncharted into a new fashion land. Well, it'll be hard to top artist Naomi Kizhner’s newest concept for the latest fad, and although it's far-fetched, she believes her concept will be commonplace in the future. What's the idea? Only jewelry that relies upon the human body to function, of course. Don't worry. This will only pinch a little.
Kizhner’s designs take extreme to a new level. She envisions kids of the future going to body piercing shops to get functional jewelry installed into their body's innate powerhouse. Why buy a watch that runs on batteries when you can buy one that’s powered by your very own blood. Oh yes, because that’s what we’ve been missing all this time.
Kizhner calls her concept Energy Additions because she believes those who claim to be "addicted" to piercings will go to new extremes to feel that high. Her exhibit includes jewelry installments on the spine, wrist and across the bridge of the bone, which each harvest human energy in a different way.
E-Pulse Conductor design
The E-Pulse Conductor design connects to the spine and is powered by the electrical signals sent from the brain. The Blinker design sits on the bridge of the nose and extends across the eyelids. This design is powered when a person blinks. Lastly, the Blood Bridge is installed intravenously, creating a new circuit through which a person’s blood can travel. Theoretically, the blood can turn a wheel, creating kinetic energy to power the funky jewelry. Kizhner believes the jewelry can do everything from illuminate LEDs to “modifying” the human body.
Blinker design
Kizhner’s design is still only a concept at this point. There's no word on anyone trying to send the prototypes to market, but you never know. If people in today's day and age pierce any body part they can fit a barbel through, who's to say people won't be rocking intravenous jewelry? At least that would make it easier to distribute the zombie serum to the masses of people who are already brain dead. Grab the shotgun sonny. They're out there in the distance.
I like the idea of needed extra calories to power jewelry. Also, a great way to cut cals too.
