Replacing battery charger diodes

I have 6 and 10 amp, 12 volt manual automotive type battery chargers with bad diodes. These diodes are mounted on an aluminum plate.

I am looking at replacing these diodes with stud mount diodes, style DO4/DO5 etc. I have used MUR2515 in the past, but 1 of these has blown when hooked up to a very dead battery.

I was looking at purchasing MUR2510, 25F40 or FR30G02 as replacements.

Would these be suitable replacements and should I stick with fast recovery diodes?

Any suggested diode #s are appreciated.

You don't need a fast diode for this. I'd get power diodes rated at least about twice the nominal current capacity of your chargers. I'd be looking at ones that had a BV of at least 50 volts. Shottktys…

I also heard that these chargers use 25 amp 400 volt diodes.
I would want at least this rating.
