QorIQ P1022 processor features power-efficient energy savings modes and supports high encrypted file read/write performance
AUSTIN, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Freescale Semiconductor’s (NYSE: FSL http://my.fool.com/watchlist/add?ticker=FSL&source=iwlsitbut0000010) QorIQ P1022 processor is powering Synology’s DiskStation DS413 network-attached storage (NAS) server, which won the prestigious “Best Choice Award” at Computex 2012. The QorIQ P1022 processor is designed to provide dual-core performance and innovative, packet-lossless energy management capabilities for networking applications such as the Synology DS413.
The Synology DS413 is a quad-bay NAS server that provides small enterprises and small office/home office (SOHO) users with a secure, centralized, high-density file storage solution. Leveraging breakthrough packet-lossless power saving capabilities featured in the P1022 processor, the DS413 delivers leading encrypted file transfer performance of 48.81 MB per second read/23.46 MB per second write speeds while supporting a minimal 3.3 watt hibernation mode.

The QorIQ P1022 combines two e500 v2 processor cores built on Power Architecture technology with enhanced system peripherals and interconnect technology to balance processor performance and I/O system throughput. Delivering multicore performance ranging from 600 to 1200 MHz in a single-core power budget, the P1022 features an integrated high-resolution display controller, three PCI Express interconnects, advanced hardware for full protocol security, RAID acceleration and integrated SATA interfaces.
