Farnell adds Ultra Low LC Super capacitors for AMI & IoT applications

Following the announcement by VINATech, the largest manufacturer of EDLC Super Capacitors,  of their new range of Hybrid
Lithium Capacitors (LIC) Farnell have chosen to carry these products.

By utilising some aspects of EDLC and Lithium Ion Battery technology this Hybrid solution offers high energy density with the long life
characteristics and high power of EDLCs.

This small range of VLC ultra-low ESR super capacitors are rated at 3.8v rated and offers high density with extremely low SD (Self Discharge) characteristics. Ideally suited to Wireless sensing, RFiD devices, Energy harvesting and PV/Solar powered products, AMR, Automotive applications,Beacons and Buoys along with Medical applications and pumpsimage

The VLC series is a great option to be used alongside Primary powered Battery applications for pulse management where standard VEC series Leakage Currents may be a concern. Compared to similar battery based devices on the market the LIC offers a wider voltage operating range, wider temperature range, longer cycle life and higher charging currents along with lower ESR.

The product can be used in higher temperatures, to 85c, if de-rated to 3.5v max

This is a REACH & RoHS compliant product and is not subject to Transportation issues. The Anode is made with Activated carbon whilst the cathode uses Carbon Graphene.

This is also UL approved

  • Ultra Low LC/SD
  • Higher Voltage than EDLCs 3.8v
  • Ultra low ESR
  • Hi Density  20F~ 270F  (10F to follow)
  • Long cycle life  100k+
  • ~30c~ +70C  (can be used at 85c if de-rated to 3.5v
  • Short lead times
  • RoHS, REACH & WEEE compliant
