      随着电子设备日益流行,对于AC-DC外部电源的需求也随之而来。从2009年到2013年,外部电源的数量预计增长11%以上。现今,全世界所使 用的电源数量在60亿至100亿只之间,而这些电源通常整天插在插座上,其中20个小时都在不使用中,却一直消耗电能。这些数据说明了能源浪费的问题不断 升温,也显示了降低待机功耗可能带来的深远影响。

虽然最佳电源的效率超过90%,但有些电源的效率却仅有20%至40%,流经电源的大部分电能都被浪费了。电源可能占据每年总体住宅电能使用量的10%左右。尽管一些法规和技术有助于降低待机功耗,但消耗电能的电器和设备的数量却不断增多,特别是在发展中国家。

      飞兆半导体公司 (Fairchild Semiconductor) 的全新mWSaverTm  技术能为电源提供同级最佳的节能特性,而只需尽可能最少的组件。mWSaver系列器件集成了五项专利技术:关断时间调制、JFET  HV启动电路、反馈阻抗开关、HV放电和降低电压的PSR控制功能;以及间歇模式运作和低工作电流技术。只有通过这些技术的独特集成和协同使用,才能够满 足最严格的待机功耗规范要求。

mWSaver技术特性:
• 同级最佳的单位组件待机/无负载功耗;
• 能够降低电阻、电容、电感和整流器等外部组件的待机功耗;
• 出色的满负载额定效率;
• 能够超越世界各地所有的无负载法规的要求;
• 通过省去附加电路和组件来降低材料清单 (BOM) 成本和总体系统成本,并集成了电压过低检测、欠压闭锁 (UVLO)、过压保护 (OVP)、开环保护 (OLP)和过热保护 (OTP) 等功能。

 


电源制造厂商通过采用mWSaver技术,能够达到其客户要求的超低待机功耗要求,同时省去组件并降低BOM成本。

让我们想象一下,如果美国转向能源之星 (Energy Star) 额定电池充电器标准 (其效率较传统模式高出35%)  所带来的潜在影响:这一变化每年将可节省超过10亿千瓦时(kWh) 电能或1亿美元电能费用,同时减少超过100万吨温室气体排放 ——  相当于从道路上移走15万辆汽车。每mW电能节省能够进一步减少自然资源的不必要消耗,创造更环保的环境。
