I immediately thought this "communication robot" was meant for the bathtub, I was wrong. Dubbed the MIRAI SANZO, made by Santo Homes, comes with a touch screen, touch sensors around the sphere, WIFI connectivity, voice recognition, and glows with 7 different colors depending on its 'mood.' The bot is a controller for the home. It can switch the climate controls on or off, set temperatures. Depending on how automatic various parts of the home may be, SANZO can do things like fill the bath tub, send emails to phones if the fire alarm has been triggered, heat the floor. Ironically, SANZO run the Android operating system. Though, I could not find out what version. (guess: 1.5)
All these home automations sound like wonders to me since I have none of these possibilities in my appliances. Where are homes so controlled? Japan, of course. MIRAI SANZO is already on sale in Japan right now.
