Hi Cabe,
I just received an email that my CNC kit from DYICNC has been shipped. This is my first step into the machining world, but I am excited by the potential. I hope to put a blog together as I assemble the device so that the community can see how to get into CNC for a relatively low cost. I don't know how well it will stack up to your machining requirements, but we shall see.
Thanks to you and others in the E14 community, I now have the inspiration to build my own devices. Perhaps another Evil Genius will be born.

Hi Cabe,
I ordered the CNC from the www.MYDIYCNC.com group (I got the link from a post here at E14 and liked what they offer.). It enables the user to mill, drill, or cut wood, plastics or light metals. I also inquired if they were going to add a 3D print head and they confirmed that it was on their list to do. They also have a laser head for the device, so I thought it would be an easy way for me to try some things out.
The full kit was under $500 US and they have a website where you can see what they are doing and check the progress of your order. So since mine is in the UPS system, I should see it soon. After that I need to assemble and test it before I start getting creative with it.
I plan to do at least a blog with pictures of the kit and my assembly progress. I appreciate the offer if I get stuck, but it looks pretty straight forward and the group has been very good at responding to my questions, so I don't anticipate any problems.
I have a neat, but undisclosable, project in mind. Once I get some results, I will try to post some pictures.
Thanks
