Convert Existing Automatic Sliding Door to Operate with RPI

Former Member
Former Member over 10 years ago

Hi All

I would like to start a step by step project but need some advice first.

I have 2 x PC boards on separate automatic sliding doors that blew due to a power surge. Each of the boards plug into a 220volt dedicated wall plug. To replace these boards are very expensive. I want to operate the doors using Raspberry PI instead as its much cheaper and you can do so much more.

Would i need a Unipi or can i operate the doors with just the RPI?

    Hi

Can you confirm the voltage operating range for the motors, from the previous pictures it looks to be 40V but I can not be sure, based on what I have seen so far this would be possible with a PI, an Arduino MEGA, A LAunchpad or many other devices including a few Industrial Controllers (PLC devices) that will already have the interfacing to interact with the higher powered devices
