H Bridge for Sewing Machine

Hi i am looking for a H bridge design that could power a 24v 5A 120w DC Scooter motor that i will be using on an old sewing machine. i will be controlling it with an arduino and it will be stopping starting and reversing a lot so any advice would be welcome. i have both P and N channel fets in my bits box mostly TIP and IRLZ44N and a ton of BUS12 NPN 8A 400V if that helps.

    Hi Mick, I don't know if you have the book "Practical Electronics for Inventors" 3rd Edition by Paul Scherz and Simon Monk but on page 916 there are two circuits for H-Bridges using Darlingtons in one case and MosFets in another. You might also find that you can get an H-Bridge on a single chip that can handle that much current if properly heat sunk.

    Thank you so much after reading a few reviews of  Practical Electronics for Inventors and getting a lets say a preview digital copy of the book i have just ordered the paperback from amazon, What a book i have been looking for something like it for years and after waiting forever for the newest version of the art of electronics to be released this book looks like the perfect addition to my bench.
