How many gas sensors can be connected to an ESP32 microcontroller?

I am working on an Electronic Nose / gas sensing project using ESP32.
I want to know how many gas sensors can be connected to ESP32 and what are the limitations.

  • An ESP32 has up to 18 native  A/D channels, but some pins would be needed for control, so you might get 8-14 analog sensors directly connected, depending on your control scheme. There are also lots of sensors with serial interfaces - not sure what type you are talking about.
