Anybody interested in discussing about fire sensors for long distance range (~500m)?

Available technologies?

Prices?

  • You can probably use the RPi camera with an IR filter.

     

    Slap a 500-mm lens on it should get you the distance you want.

     

    After that, you just need to setup a scanning fixture and let it look over the area.

     

    Emissive IR is very strong compared to reflected IR, so you might need to set up some filtering.
