Pressure sensor analog output does not make sense.

According to link you gave, you got a TSC, not a NSC series. So you measure differential or gauged, but not absolute. Did you solder it or breadboard it? What voltage at Vsupply are you using? Can you describe the application in more detail like what medium type used air or liquid? Picture of what you have? The data sheet is quite detailed if you follow it carefully. Possibly the voltage is noisy and that could be problem with output since the device is extremely accurate.

See below table to setup the device correctly:

• Differential Output is proportional to the difference between the pressures applied to each port (Port 1 – Port 2).
• Gage Output is proportional to the difference between applied pressure and atmospheric (ambient) pressure

The sensor is a bridge type - so a differential amplifier is recommended.

The example differential amplifier circuits in the datasheet have single-ended outputs.

If you use a 5 V power supply, the maximum output of the sensor is only 45.75 mV, so you need a gain of about 100 to get a full scale of 4.6 V.

It seems to be 150 psi full scale, so even with a gain of 100, it still only puts out 30 mV per psi.

Douglas, you are right. When I applied 50psi, the output is approximate 15.0 mV. which is 30 mV per psi as you said. However, where do you get the information of maximum output is 47.75 mV? Is it listed in the datasheet or is it based on your own testing?

Initially, I thought that the output of the sensor is AC since it has both Vout+ and Vout- but end up it is DC analog output. It make sense now. Thank you.

Most sensors I have seen are DC because easier to use and fits the MCU environment. The dataset is under documents for the link you set above. Would be curious what you plan to do with this project.

I am doing a pressure detector, that will warn the user when the pressure exceed certain level.

The datasheet indicates the full scale output is 9.15 mV/V

This means that, at maximum pressure, for every volt of excitation (sensor power supply) the sensor signal will increase by 9.15 mV. If your sensor power supply is 5 V, then maximum output signal will be 5 * 9.15 = 45.75

This will be the voltage at maximum pressure which is 150psi.

I would just use the lowest cost single-supply instrumentation amp I could find, such as: MCP6N11 or AD8293 and I might go to a zero-drift type for better accuracy - such as: MCP6N16
