IoT sensor on Communication mast

Hi,

I am working on a pilot use case of AI-IoT  and I would appreciate feedback.

In particular, I am looking at the feasibility of deploying IoT sensors/sensors on communication mast - these sensors might be gateways that connect to
other distributed low-cost  sensors within a locality. The usage of this sensor network could range from air quality monitoring, traffic analysis (for example
using Bluetooth signals), waste management etc. My questions

  1. Are there potential pitfalls (technical and otherwise) of this system or better ways to rethink the system ?
  2. If deployed in a local area as a paid  service, can the model sustain itself and also generate revenue
  3. Is this a totally irrelevant idea and doomed to fail.

    Thank you!

You mean, you want to come 5 to 10 years late to the LoRaWan market? In my area, all the water meters are remotely read and they use LoRaWan repeaters located on street signs or lamppost every 50 to…

There are other companies like Birdz scattered around the world. All doing similar things. Key is customer engagement to get "locked in". You can also leverage open source to do it: https://meshtastic…

Definitely 3, adding AI to any acronym is a full guarantee of failure. MK

To answer question 2, you 'd have to know your potential customers / investors, and what they would be willing to pay for your service.

There are users who are willing to pay  based on similar existing prototype.

Do you know how much they pay? And if they would be interested in purchasing from you?

    No.
Until I deploy my own and make a pilot test.
They would probably be willing if the QoS is good enough.  I will probably  have services that are billed across different cost range to accommodate wide range of users and have a niche customer base.
