What got stuck to my shoe

I received a shipment of TCA9548A multiplexes in an anti-static bags. Slip in between the folds of one of the packages was this module. I suspect it is a long lost chip trying to find it way home. I've been unsuccessful in discovering what it is, so I can't give it purpose. Any suggestions?

The silver package to the left has the markings 1244 U401 001. The black components towards the top od the PCB has LB2K. There are no components or markings on the back of the board.

Anyone see this beast before?

The dimension of the board is 1cm square. It came with a five pin header not soldered.

Holds promise gents. Similar numbers on the can.

Maybe it's a pressure sensor, e.g. like Bosch BMP280 or similar. I'd recommend building this sometime (it's easy, just a few wires and two resistors connected to a Pi Pico, and drag-and-drop programming…

I found this online. Looks identical except the marking has some difference. I would assume it would be the batch ID difference. https://robu.in/product/bmp180-digital-barometric-pressure-sensor-module…

I got unwanted parts today too. I ordered two 555 chips from CPC, and got these instead.. ULN2804A Not as interesting as a sensor!

Interesting thing is that CPC don't offer ULN2804A.. looks like they somehow picked from a Farnell bin maybe.

Kind of useless IC's.. I don't have a need for arays of darlingtons usually. Anyway, too low cost to be worth time to get the correct items sent. The 555 parts were a filler item in the order anyway.

They are showing up as being stocked here:

I think their search is broken. Searching for ULN2804A gets converted by the site into a search for 'darlington transistors', and it finds 86 of them, of which eight are categorized as ICs. Those eight are missing the UN2804A. Anyway, not going to raise this with the team, because it's just too irritating. This should be automated, they ought to have rules for alerts (and internal logs) to be generated when silly things like this happen, when the search results do not contain the item actually requested!

    The quick search finds it:

The search engine can be painful at times - I often know there is something in there but it just won't find it, unless you know the exact order code.

The spotty cross referencing system often makes it tough to drill down to what you are looking for. Probably a good candidate for some AI.

I can just picture it now Slight smile

We recommend this ULN2804A darlington array... "
