Get in the Zone – The Nyquist Zone

A few days ago I watched an excellent Agilent WEB Cast regarding sampling signals using ADC devices basically. This was focused around Agilent Equipment but the principals presented some very interesting possibilities that could be applied to any electronic project that involves an ADC.

The video describes more than you will need to know about Nyquest principals and sampling etc

Did you know that by UNDER sampling you could effectively demodulate an AM Signal, well your not alone, I did not know either, now I do and can not wait to try it

here is a link to the WEB Cast :  on-demand recording , You will need to provide a bit of info but the video is well worth the effort.

and the Slides: http://www.home.agilent.com/upload/cmc_upload/All/10July2014WebcastSlides.pdf

Oh and if your into HIGH END ADC's and DACs in the form of rack equipment have a look at these puppies,

pretty impressive stuff

Enjoy

    Hi Peter,

Great post.  The slides are a very good example of how you use signal processing basics to pull information from various signal sources.

In my day, we would use specialized processors and many computers to do some of these technics.

My hat is off toe Agilent, they have an impressive array of hardware and software for doing advanced signal analysis.

    Very cool!
