Having a child is one of life’s most rewarding experience for some. It’s also tiring for the parents of newborns. Prepare for sleepless nights as you try to figure out why the baby is crying at 3 in the morning. Isn’t there a better way? One company heard the aggravated yawns of parents everywhere and have come up with a solution: Snoo, a new smart crib that promises to lull your baby to sleep.
This crib relaxes your baby and gently puts them to sleep with a collection of sounds and motions. When it’s time for the bed, the crib will imitate sounds of the womb, like a beating heart. The crib also comes equipped with sensors and three built in microphones that can tell when the baby is crying. When the crying is detected, the crib will then play specially designed white noise. If the crying is soft it will be low pitched and slow; if it’s louder the noise will get louder as well.
The Snoo also has a range of motion to gently rock your baby to sleep, providing the same comfort as a mother’s arms. The crib also wants your baby to have a safe night’s sleep and comes with a swaddle blanket. This prevents the little one from rolling over into unsafe positions, which is a big cause of infant deaths. Choose from three different sizes: small, medium, and large. The blankets have straps that attach to the sides of the crib to make sure your baby stays in one place. And in the case of emergency diaper duty, there’s an easy zipper that can be opened from the bottom.
Want to check up on the baby in the middle of the night? The Snoo can be paired with a smartphone app that lets parents do just that. Check how the baby is doing from anywhere. You can also turn off the rocking motion from the app. This way the baby can slowly get used to sleeping without the rocking motion and you don’t have to tip toe into the room to check on them.
This sounds like the crib parents all over have been waiting for. But it’s gonna cost you $1,160. Admittedly, the crib has some great features, but it’s still a lot of money for something that’s going to be used for a short time. If you’re planning on having a big family, then you’ll get more use from this crib. But if the family is smaller and you don’t want to break the bank with this crib, then maybe look into other smart apps and devices for a soothing night’s sleep.
Only flaw I see is the tech isn't included in a full size crib with standard mattresses. They do that... and I would have bought one.
