The mail arrived.

And inside was.......

A PAD-234A.

Does anyone have one?

Or is there a lab that you like?

Please share your labs, Let's see what you use to work on, and give us an update on what you wished it had, or what you done like about your labs.

This is new to me, and so I will learn it, and more about it later.

So far, I think I will need a basic voltmeter to keep an active eye on the voltages.

I found it on eBay. There are many of them just search for " Digital/Analog Electronics Trainer". They have some Elenco XK-550/700's for around 35-40 bucks. Now I went into it expecting to need to repair…

Yes it has been a while. I was more active, but I got a bit depressed. Feeling better now though, I'm excited to put my breadboard to work with some projects. I got to say, this is a used unit, but I only…

I found it on eBay. There are many of them just search for "Digital/Analog Electronics Trainer".

They have some Elenco XK-550/700's for around 35-40 bucks.

Now I went into it expecting to need to repair something, although in the description is said 100% working condition.

It is eBay after all, but these kits/labs are designed to be built, so my thinking is they will be simple to repair.

On this topic, does anyone remember the electronic labs that radio-shack used to sell, with springs on premounted components?

    150 in 1 lab.

This was my first kit 1992. I rocked that solar cell, and that meter came in so handy, I don't know how it did not burn out as many times as I hooked it up backwards, or forgot to put some resistors in with it.

I wore out that little relay up there in the corner.   I had to remove the cover and use a nail file to clean up the contacts.

    300 in 1.

    This was my 1998 model.

    500 in 1.

This was the last one I had. 2001?

I remember upgrading to the breadboard kits was a HUGE jump for me.

It was so awesome that you could bring in your OWN components and have a place to apply them.

Personally I think kids need to get more of these kits for gifts. They launched me into electronics and formed my life very differently. Understanding what is going on when you press a button, or when something is getting hot.

Most I feel nowadays kids don't even understand why the battery to there RC-car gets hot, or what is actually taking place when they press up on their gaming platform's controller.
