    Greetings Mr Mason!

I hope I'm directing my question to the right category, but I'm pretty sure I did...

Anyway, currently I'm working on my bachelor thesis. Summing it up, I'm trying to trace back fluctuations of a plasma jet via measures based on the variations of the magnetic field, caused by the plamsa arc inside. And right there comes my question: At farnell's online shop I found a hall effect sensor (http://de.farnell.com/honeywell-s-c/ss311pt/sensor-hall-effekt-bipolar-sot/dp/1784726). If the link does not work, it's called 'HONEYWELL S&C - SS311PTSS311PT - SENSOR, HALL EFFEKT, BIPOLAR, SOT-23'. Problem is: Does it measure a particular component of the magnetic field our does it only meter the alteration of the magnetic field? Point is: I need a sensor, which shows me the changing of one component. Could you help me with that, or is it possible that you can tell me a similar sensor which agrees with my requirements (every other feature of the previously mentioned sensor would fit to my experiment). Thank you so much in advance! Kind regards

PS: I'm hoping my English wasn't too bad, I'm writing from Munich, Germany

    Hi John,

I'm not certain that you are the correct person to contact but we are an Australian glass and aluminium manufacturing company and use your steel rule (35-406) to test and calibrate our rulers, guides, machinery etc.  We were recently audited and the question was raised as to the calibration of our testing equipment.  I have looked on your website for some further information about it but have had no luck.  Are you able to give me any information about the 35-406 including any guarantee timeframes.  We do of course check and compare it against other products but have no actual calibration or guarantee standard to back it up.  Kind Regards, Caroline Dickson
