Anyone familiar with the Hantek 1008?

I Have been searching for an affordable usb scope for a few months and ran across the Hantek 1008. Anyone familiar with it or ever used one? I am wondering if it would possibly be a ok-decent low cost bench scope. I may occasionally use it on a car audio system that’s already installed, but that would be the exception to removing it from the workbench. I’ve had a Rigol 1054Z but sold it. I didn’t like having to take it off the bench and store it when not in use. I am curious if the 8 channels is a gimmick or legit. Or is it more of an overpriced logic level analyzer?

thanks for the input and any suggestions or ideas.
Kevin

Hantek do make USB oscilloscopes, the 1008 is not one of them. Sometimes Hantek call it a DAQ and sometimes they do describe it as an oscilloscope.

It has a very low acquisition rate (2.4MS/s), almost no memory (4k points)  and only 100kHz bandwidth. (All those stated as "single channel", so likely to be worse by a factor of the number of channels in use.)

It is not a logic analyser (far too slow).

The Rigol 1054Z is a real (if entry level) digital scope.

    This is even cheaper, https://www.amazon.co.uk/HANTEK-Portable-Based-Digital-Oscilloscope/dp/B00EEX1W5G/ref=sr_1_6?dchild=1&keywords=hantek+os…

but it is a scope in the conventional sense - it's about £60 so it will be very limited.

You could get a Pico 2204A for £118, much better quality product and with known decent software.

    https://www.amazon.co.uk/Technology-PicoScope-2204A-Oscilloscope-channels/dp/B00GZMRZ3M/ref=bmx_4/258-4273423-6510169?_e…

The Pico has a lower bandwidth (10MHz) than the Hantek 2 channel scope but a faster sampling rate, which will mean that in practice it is actually usable over the stated bandwidth. the software is the same as for the 6424E which I am currently road testing on E14 (but of course the hardware being very different it can't do all the same stuff.)

Thank you. You managed to tell me what I couldn’t discern from the available details and will be looking into the pico.

Thanks for this, I've been using one of those DIY DSO mini scopes and I feel I want to "graduate" to an actual beginner scope. I looked at the Rigol 1054Z thanks to your suggestion and it seems the best bang for the buck scope I've seen so far image
