Tenma 72-7715 Thermometer: Data Cable Type?

Greetings!

I have a Tenma 72-7715 Thermometer which is missing the original USB data cable. I need a replacement.

It is labeled as USB, but the connector conforms to no USB standard I know of. I do not see a replacement cable listed on the Newark site, nor is a port type specified in the instruction manual, nor in the technical specifications.

I have uploaded a photo of the port in question (see scale... it is 5mm wide).

Please advise.

I've seen a connector like this on a cable to a camcorder a long time ago, but not on a USB port. I was trying to track it down when the website I was using disappeared. However, you may have better luck contacting the original manufacturer of the digital thermometer, UNI-TREND or UNIT. It seems that Tenma is Avnet/Farnell/Newark brand name for their in-house equipment, but in most cases OEM'd from some other manufacturer. I believe the product is a UNI-T 325. UT325 Contact Type Thermometer - UNI-T Meters | Test & Measurement Tools and Solutions (uni-trend.com) Newark's webpage said the cable is included with the unit.

After staring at the photo for a while, I was wondering if the USB (and SIGN) have dummy plugs in them. There seems to be a tab at the top of each port. If you press on the tab does the plug come out? Just thinking...
