1. I have a transmitter with 0dBm Tx power and a receiver whose Noise floor is close to -90dBm and in order to maintain an SNR of 20dB I have to maintain and RSSI of -70dBm.(with PL of 70dB)
But If I do not want to be limited by noisefloor and yet want to maintain SNR of 20dB, I am planning to use a Channel Emulator to maintain an output of -30dBm and maintain 20dB of SNR. Which means Channel emulator is injecting White Noise (-50dBm) in receiver bandwidth to maintain an SNR of 20dB . correct?.
2. Saw if my first point is correct. I would like to clarify this following setup.
Now with that setup and I am trying to add attenuation pad (in incremental fashion) to the output of the channel emulaor which should not change the SNR (since both Signal and Noise is getting attenuated). so how far can I increase attenuation inorder to maintain the SNR of 20dB in this case?
