Press Release 5/2017

Altium To Host “PCB 2020” Global Product Roadshow Series

San Diego, CA, May 11, 2017  — Rapid growth in markets for “smart” wearables, appliances, factory equipment, and more - the “Internet of Things” - is leading to more and more people, companies, and processes engaging in the design of printed circuit boards. Altium, a global provider of electronic design solutions, will overview market trends and the future of PCB design tools in its upcoming technology roadshow, “PCB 2020: Altium’s Roadmap to the Future”. This interactive and educational roadshow will be an all-inclusive event for PCB designers from every spectrum of the electronics community, from maker to specialist.

Design engineers from all over the globe are invited to participate in this one-of-a-kind experience, and leave with unique insight into Altium’s strategy to become the leading provider of PCB design tools by 2020. “PCB 2020: Altium’s Roadmap to the Future” will give those who are passionate about PCB design the opportunity to learn about current products, upcoming releases, and industry trends that are changing the way electronic products are designed and brought to realization. This exciting experience will include executive presentations, live demonstrations, networking opportunities, industry guest speakers, and more.

“Altium believes that the Internet of Things has the potential for enormous positive impact on human health, transportation, manufacturing, agriculture, and virtually every other aspect of society”, said Ted Pawela, Chief Marketing Officer at Altium. “Our PCB 2020 events will provide us the opportunity to connect directly with our user community and outline how we will deliver next generation electronics design tools that will help everyone - makers, professionals, and teams - to design products that will make IoT a reality through electronics”.

In addition to highlighting CircuitStudio and CircuitMaker, Altium will introduce a brand new solution for team-based design processes, and provide a sneak peek at Altium Designer 18, the upcoming release of its flagship product. Engineers, makers, and professional design teams are all encouraged to attend the roadshow and gain new perspective on Altium products and the future of PCB design practices.

“PCB 2020: Altium’s Roadmap to the Future” will take place in 9 locations around the world from May 16th through June 19th. All events will highlight current industry trends, existing and future technology, and how design engineers can best utilize PCB design tools for their professional advancement. Additionally, the Boston, Munich and San Jose events will include executive speakers from Altium’s leadership, who will take an in-depth look at Altium’s role in furthering the evolution of PCB design, with presentations from industry experts explaining how new technology and design practices shift us towards a smarter, more connected future.
