Any suggestions on what sensors/platforms for wearable technology and bio-monitoring?

I am seeing a lot of tech articles on Wearable sports gear for heart monitoring/etc...

Any suggestions on what sensors/platforms might be good to look at for working into monitoring skin conductivity, heart rate and/or body temp?

Thanks.

John K.

Thanks for the information!  Technically what I want to use it for would be medical under Autism, but it seems that the Sports sector has already done some cool things with it, undoubtedly due to the economic market booming.  :-)

If you need lowest possible power, check these out in this order:

    Ambiq Micro Apollo (Cortex M4)

    TI MSP430

    Silicon Labs ARM Cortex

    Maxim Cortex M4

    Atmel Picopower (multiple families)

    Hello John,

As you are looking for wearable technology in sports sector, I would like to suggest "The Sudden Impact Wearables Design Challenge". Have a look into the contents and you'll get some ideas for your project I hope.

However, for wearable technology the system should have a small form factor and consume low power. So, according to your needs I think ADUCM350 or dsPIC33EP based system can be a good solution for you.

ADUCM350 has impedance measuring unit and AFE for bio-monitoring, which can be useful in your case. dsPIC33EP has digital signal processor module builtin which can be helpful for post processing of bio-signals.

I am referring some blog posts and support pages from "design center" -

For Skin Conductivity: Part4.2 - Bio-impedance analysis over hydration [Central Hub]

For Heart rate:           1. AD8232 based single lead ECG heart rate monitor - AD8232  Evaluation Board , Part1.3 ECG output of AD8232

                                         2. Optical method - [plethysmograph - SPO2]

For body temp: The specified item was not found. , Part4.1 - ADT7320 Temperature Sensor [Central Hub]
