So. Much. Soldering.

My technique for making the LED flowers  means that in order to connect them together I have to solder a longer bit of wire from each of the four “stem” wires to the next little wires in the sequence. And I need to add additional longer wires for the power and ground that branch out to supply all of the LEDs. In short, I soldered ~70 connections the other day.

Troubleshooting

I really should test as I go along. I’m not sure why I don’t, probably some intuition toward efficiency and batch processing. But what ended up happening is that I finished-up my marathon soldering session to find that only two of my flowers even lit up. After a few frustrated hours, I just replaced two of the LEDs. But I did get a tutorial from my Hunky Assistant on how to use a multimeter and oscilloscope. So at least there’s that.

Flower Arrangement

Then I took a break from the tough stuff and just added oodles of in-fill flowers. Some are nicely sewn. Some are glued. But I like how this is turning out.

Next week will have more of a focus on the code...
