Can those countires who want to jump straight to 4g (India, Chian ect) hold out for LTE, which is more expensive, or will they plump for WiMAX, as Mexico already have?

The world economic situation may be the great equalizer. It is hugely expensive to roll out 4G networks of any kind, and so many countries (India and China included) may well be pushing back their original timetables for launching 4G. If they do, then the current advantage WiMax has may disappear and LTE gets the 2-3 development/rollout years they need. By the time customers are ready to resume spending at pre-recession levels it could be an even fight.
