868 Mhz Wifi RF module for MCZ Pellet stove

cubitus

Hi all,

I have a Google Home that I'd like to control my MCZ Pellet stove by voice command.

I have a remote for the stove that works at 868 Mhz, so I need a RF bridge that can manage that.

I've tried to google for such a device, but I can't find it, so I'm searching for en expert that can guide me. I'm a total novice on the subject.

I've found this device here on Farnell, but I'm unsure if it will work. My plan was to stick the USB part in my router and use Ifttt to control the command.

USB Gateway, Wireless Transceiver Module, 868 Mhz

regards

Pierre

The truth is that manufacturers use all different sorts of control mechanisms at these frequency and do not usually document it. To make something work wolllikely need you to open things up, investigate the encoding of signals on the air (e.g. by using an SDR radio), reverse engineer the commands themselves and re-implement on a microcontroller and transceiver chip combination. Then you need to get the combination on the network (securely) in a way that Google Home can talk to - you don't want someone random on the internet messing around with it.

It's always easier if it is a model someone else has done the hard work for, but as someone who has reverse engineered a number of devices, it is time consuming and does require some level of expertise.

    Thank you for your answer.

I had a feeling it was to complicated for me.

I have to accept the fact that I continue to use the remote.

Thanx and have a good day
