i went to search on the forum on NFC antenna, thanks to this quiz sparks my interest. I found a blog by Fred's Blog NFC antenna tuning without a VNA that mention about this intriguing NanoVNA. it seems…

rscasny alex alex.colpitts is quite right Antennas are AGNOSTIC they are kind of "stupid" if the frequency is right, and you put a signal in (any type) it comes out the other side. the best analogy and…

Apparently I did remember quite a bit from the antenna class, so now I feel a bit more motivated to retake that exam. The professor giving the class spent most lectures deriving equations and spent several on the wave equation. Thanks for this quiz, I needed this image

I do so agree with your comment on accuracy of information that is posted. Numerous times I have taken something from the Internet, thinking this must have been tested in order to be posted, to discover it doesn't work.

I find what becomes important to garnering a successful pull of knowledge from an Internet is understanding of the context. This especially applies to computer software and hardware. Year, make, model and operating system all play a part in a solution. I find the date of posting most important to watch. Knowledge becomes stale dated. With the myriad of O/S, I find the posts that are greater than a year old are usually no longer valid.

I did a post on pulse width modulation using servo motors and the Raspberry Pi's in June 2019. I tried using the code last week and it failed miserably. I'm confident it worked with the article was originally released.

I left the servo motor circuit hooked up to the Pi. My daughter asked me that evening did I have something running in the computer room, she heard strange noises. A few days later I discovered the noise she heard. The servo motor was hooked to GPIO pins of the Pi but the device was not supported by code. While I'm sitting there the servo randomly moved. It scared the crap out of me!

..and be sceptical of some web content! : )

There's some great stuff, practical and theoretical (since not everything can be learned from books), but also plenty of nonsense/weird stuff mixed in..

When working on the RF Project14 project, I had to mess with ferrites, and I noted this junk.. I can't recall the web links, but it's incorrect information, I had to draw my own diagrams in the end.

It has been my experience that Ham radio operators have a better grasp of RF theory and its application that people formally trained.
