LattePanda Chassis

Intro

In this episode of the waterproof connectors experimenting challenge I am building the computer and display at the top of the pole. The chassis allows the system to be handled without touching the circuit card.

I had to design a chassis for the LattePanda because the metal heatsink case I ordered has not arrived. The 3D printed parts took about 10 hours to print.

Fortunately, everything printed nicely and everything fit well.

It is tough to video detail on something this size - even fitting it on the bench is an exercise.

I used this blog as an opportunity to experiment with some new video software. (OBS)

The build is close to complete, which is fortunate because the experimenting deadline is only a couple of days away.

I am including the 3D print files in case anyone else wants to mount a LattePanda on a hockey stick.

Next Steps

  • Obtain a mini HDMI cable
  • Connect a battery
  • Perform some water tests

If using it outdoors, then you may find that you need some sort of shade for the display. If you can make it flip open, then it can double as a screen protector when folded shut.
