Question about Zynq Software installation

From Lab 0 I understand that for completing the training course I need to install AMD-Xilinx Vitis and Vivado ML Edition 2021.1. For installing the tools an Ubuntu Linux LTS 18.04.04 running on a windows virtual machine is recommended. My question is may I use Ubuntu Linux LTS 18.04.04 OS directly without running it in a virtual machine? I have a Ubuntu OS installed on my PC.

    I'm curious to know if you can go through all the labs using the latest version of tools and petalinux. The training is based on 2021.2 and sometimes things don't work across different versions so well. Please do post back here once you've completed the trainings. I myself wanted to go for the latest tool versions but in the end went with 2021.2 to avoid issues with training materials.
