So, I'm not one of the Path to Programmable trainees, but I decided to get a MiniZed and try to follow along with everyone else's blogs. I'm a hitchiker on the Path to Programmable. Anyone care to join me?

 

I'm hoping that there will be enough info disseminated by the bloggers to help me along the path with them. And thanks to kk99, I've also got an Arty S7 which should make thing easier if I'm "just" looking at the FPGA side of things. FPGAs are looking fun so far and I found a good Verilog tutorial, but I can see there is so much to learn if I'm going to get past emulating a few logic gates and blinking an LED or two.

  • I'm enjoying reading all the blog posts and finding them informative. The applicants seem to be doing a great job evaluating the Path to Programmable course, which apparently may become public at a later date.

     

    These blog posts don't regurgitate the training course (and they're not supposed to) so it is a little tricky to follow along with them. So, I'm also finding other source material to find my way around the MiniZed.

     

    • There's the MiniZed Getting Started Guide, although this just fucuses on using the installed PetaLinux on the board.
    • The Zynq Embedded Design Tutorial (UG1165) in the Documentation Navigator looks like it broadly follows the initial Labs but it's based on the ZC702 and an older version of Vivado than I have installed, so it gets a little confusing.
    • I've also found a free PDF download of the Zynq book which I've just started looking at too.

     

    What really doesn't help is that my fingers seem to automatically type "Zync" with a C and that doesn't help when searching for things!
