The frame is almost completed

I encountered more difficulties than I expected in assembly a structure using steel wires...

It's not very clear in these pictures, but there are three "parallels" corresponding to three "levels"

On the upper level, the raspberry and the accelerometerers will be mounted

The middle level will host the two engines and propellers

The bottom level will host the control surfaces

At the bottom of the sphere (so outside the sphere) I will place the battery and the two servos that move the control surfaces

    I expect the complete sphere to be about 700 grams. I used an online motor calculator to size engines and propellers for a thrust of 1.6 kg. I hope the calculator is precise enough!

    CF tubes will be more better than steel... In terms of weight and durability too...

    Yes carbon fibre... 3mm outer and 2 mm internal dia tube or even 2mm dia rod will best for banding to give circular shape..

    Maybe, but with too much issues like: expensive, needs more complex nodes, less or identical flexibility. For a prototype this material is better. Also because this is a perimeter structure while - accordingly with the previous designs of Ambrogio - the core of the system is inside a tubular structure. So this is only for external shaping and protection. IMO
