Sound Advice

Here is the PCB just off the mill.

It hosts the DAC, sound buffer and output buffer.

The output buffer is just an LM358 OP amp to protect the DAC. It is configured for unity gain.

Here is a dry fitting of the adapter PCBs and connectors.

    Hi very compact,

I am impressed with the quality of your boards.  I am sure that others would like to hear about the process you use.  After the contest of course. image

Back to the DAC, are you going to use an impedance matching circuit or are you just planning to drive the speaker directly?

    Just curious,

    DAB

    Hi DAB,

    Thanks for tehe comments.

I make all of my own prototype PCBs because this accelerates the development process.

I can make both single and doubled sided PCBs.

For this project I am driving a speaker.

In this case the DAC is generating a standard 1v peak to peak audio signal.

    Cheers

    Very Compact

Good job on the board.  Did you make it yourself or have it done?

Are you planning to drive a speaker or transducer?

I like the idea of mounting SMD's onto mini boards and then placing them on pins.  It's a very useful technique for mounting modern chips so you can plug them into TTL sockets.

    Good update,

    DAB
